The Problem with 2-in-1 Shampoo ***** Here's a f The Problem with 2-in-1 Shampoo

*****

Here's a fact: you cannot be both off and on at the same time.

You might want to argue with me, but I bet that's only because you really want it to be true. Me too. But hey, if wanting something to be true made it so, I imagine a whole lot of things in life would look a lot different.

Here's the thing: anything claiming to do two things at once is doing neither of them particularly well.

It's like 2-in-1 shampoo. Is it shampooing your hair, or is it conditioning? We'll never really know... at least until it dries and you see the evidence. The best thing about 2-in-1 shampoo is the ridiculous old commercials, and that's not saying much. Remember Timotei? Good grief. Why is she washing her hair in a field?

Anyway...

I mean, honestly: if you're so tight for time that you can't give yourself an extra forty-five seconds in the shower, then I suspect your experience of life is not all that you'd like it to be, and that might be the place to look for something to improve (rather than improving your hair-washing time).

A lack of fences makes it hard to know your yard from your neighbours'.

A lack of boundaries in your own life causes the same confusion. And, if you don't draw any lines between your down time and your work/business time, then you're likely not being all that productive...

Even the sun sets in the evening. Maybe you can take a break, too?

What To Do When You Can't Even ***** Have you ev What To Do When You Can't Even

Have you ever gotten upset about something after you've already let it go?

I know, me neither.

Just kidding. I constantly find myself irked by irksome things I've already moved past.

I suspect that when that happens, I, along with you, probably haven't really let it go or moved on. I just feel a little better eventually as time marches forward, and then I pretend I'm over it (sometimes I even really believe this is true), then get to be all surprised when I get all hot and bothered by the same damn thing over and over again.

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here, but maybe this will help you out, like when we're "asking for a friend..."

Obviously there's no shortage of things to be upset about in life, and I don't care how enlightened you are: if you've got a pulse, then you probably have some feelings about it all.

And you probably have a lot of wisdom telling you that it's no use being upset over things you can't control. That if you can't change something, there's no point in letting it get to you.

And that would be great advice, if it actually worked. It would be helpful if it meant that you actually stopped being upset by things that you couldn't control just by knowing that fact, but hey, you put your pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else, and this stuff gets under your skin, just like everyone else, too.

You can't leave a place until you've been there. This is as true for your physical location as it is for your emotional position.

Alas. It hasn't.

NEG-A-TIV Negative thoughts aren’t the problem, NEG-A-TIV

Negative thoughts aren’t the problem, but how you’re relating to them might be.

If you can’t handle any negativity, you’re in for a rough ride, because HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WORLD/LIFE?

When we refuse to allow negativity to exist, we start to slide down a slippery slope into not allowing anything we just don’t want to see.

That’s not being positive, that’s being unrealistic.

You are strong enough to handle reality, no matter how good, bad, ugly or sad it is.

And, psst, by the way: if you don’t allow any rain, you don’t get any flowers. Or food or water, for that matter…

Grow your muscle to be with all of it, and change the way you’re relating to stuff you don’t want to accept. That’s real magic. ❤️🧚🏼🧜🏽‍♀️🧞‍♂️
